During the more quieter winter times the bistro also offers a spontaneous and interactive Blind 5 Course Menu. You choose your wine and our Sommeliers will work with you and the Chef's to create the perfect food pairing taking into consideration your food restrictions.  We also offer sumptuous 3-course lunch and dinner for Wine and Pinot lovers!

Winelover’s Lunch & Dinner

Join us on the tour along our Grand Cru vineyard to visit our Boutique Winery and Barrel Hall where you enjoy a tasting of three of Hans’ handcrafted artisan wines.

Sit down either in the beautiful Mediterranean Garden or the cosy Bistro for a sumptuous 3-course lunch prepared by our MasterChef’s with produce sourced fresh on the day!

Our Sommelier will bring you two glasses of our special varieties, different from what you already tasted to match your entree and two glasses of our full-bodied reds to match your main and explain the wines to you (glass pour each 75ml).

Cost  $130 per person incl. 3 course menu, matching wine as described, espresso coffee/tea

Pinot-lovers Lunch & Dinner

Start with a glass of our unique pink Pinot Gris (skin contact) of this wonderful grape variety who derives from Pinot Noir. With your main our Sommelier will bring you three different vintages of Pinot Noir including our famous Grand Duc! (all glass pours are 75ml).

Opening hours

May to October the Bistro is closed Monday and Tuesday! Please enquire for groups of more than 20 people.

The Cellar Door Bistro is open from 9am to 10pm, weekends and public holidays from 11am to 10 pm

The lunch menu is offered between 12 and 2.30pm and the dinner between 6 and 7.30 pm. Enjoy fine artisan cheeses and sweet indulgences from our pastry chef over the afternoon hours.

Please note that a 15% surcharge applies on public holidays

Seating          30 guests indoors (two rooms, open plan)
                      60+ guests on the veranda and in the Mediterranean gardens

Estate Tour with Classic Tasting in the Winery

This immersive communal experience hosted by one of our passionate wine professional includes a stroll through the wonderful gardens, an introduction to the organic estate vineyard, an unveiling of the wine production and a journey to the holy grail - the barrel hall and ageing cellar. This unique tour culminates with a tasting of our iconic, estate-grown wines. Highly recommended for fun-loving novice wine buffs, as well as the accomplished wine aficionado.

Daily 12 and 6 pm (May to October 12 pm tour only)
$25 per person ($20 if you dine with us). Includes a 'Classic' tasting in the winery.
Please allow 40 minutes to enjoy your experience.

The casual, cozy Bistro and Gardens

The Bistro is joined by our Cellar Door and a ‘wine and food’ heaven for a more relaxed bite. Busy and vibrant yet utterly unfussy and comfortable. The classic bistro cuisine such as steak frites and steamed mussels come with a modern Kiwi twist and are all matched by Hans' amazing collection of fine handcrafted wines, most available by the glass. The menu also features the most extensive artisan cheese selection with the perfect wine pairing. Oh, and did we mention that our own pastry chef bakes the most heavenly loaves of crunchy sourdough breads and whips up some pretty delicious sweet treats...

Enjoy 'al fresco' dining in summer under the dappled light of Plane trees within magnificent Mediterranean-style gardens. The perfect romantic setting with clipped box hedges, lavish roses, lavender, olive trees, beautiful water features and garden art is framed by our organic vineyard covered in wildflowers and a breath-taking mountain view.
