This historic and secluded haven, lovingly curated by owners and renowned winemakers Therese and Hans Herzog, exudes genuine charm and sophistication with its antiques and artworks. Become part of this unique winemaking story by enjoying exclusive insights into the winemaking process as guests of the Herzogs and experiencing the love and care poured into every bottle of handcrafted wine.
The cottage features a supreme king-size bed with luxurious linens, cozy seating areas, an antique desk with Wi-Fi, and thoughtful amenities such as fresh fruit, sweet and savoury treats, bathrobes, slippers, premium toiletries, books, magazines, and DVDs. A Nespresso machine for coffee aficionados and, most importantly, a well-stocked wine fridge!
In the morning, indulge in a delicious continental breakfast personally served by the vigneron themselves. Enjoy the privacy of your cottage and the breathtaking views over the vines and mountains from the spacious veranda, equipped with comfortable lounge seating. Deck chairs provide the perfect spot for sunbathing or stargazing, while a private enchanting garden with a water lily pond adds to the peaceful atmosphere.
Located on the banks of the Wairau River, Hans Herzog Estate is an ideal starting point for walks, cycling, jogging, or water sports in the Marlborough Sounds. Kaikoura and Nelson are only 90 minutes away and make for ideal day trips. Bicycles are available to explore our picturesque wine region.
