Vintage 2018+
Another warm growing season, showcasing a delectably hot summer, allowing this variety to ripen beautifully. We handpicked our Riesling at a tiny yield of only 700g per vine. Riesling is the great noble variety of Germany and could claim to be the world’s finest white grape variety on the basis of its longevity and ability to transmit the characteristics of a vineyard without losing Riesling’s own inimitable style.
Hans' Winemaking Comments+
'The grapes were whole bunch pressed then fermented and aged for 9 months in French oak puncheons, on its fine lees. No fining and only very light filtration.'
Tasting Notes+
A true reflection of the terroir and winemaker’s skill, this Riesling is notable for its intensely aromatic nose coupled with a soft and creamy, yet powerful mouthfeel and lingering freshness. Crisp aromas of citrus fruit, ripe peach and Williams pear give way to a palate of lime, champagne grapefruit and exotic lychee, enhanced by fine herb notions. Well-balanced acidity and very long dry, refreshing finish to offer a tantalising taste sensation. Delicate with great power on the palate – truly scrumptious!
