Sales and Marketing Representative
Permanent , full-time (Monday to Friday)
At Hans Herzog, we do things differently, from the way we grow and craft our wines, to how we connect with those who drink them. We’re a small, family-run estate producing highly acclaimed, handcrafted wines with no shortcuts and no compromise, just time, passion, and an unrelenting pursuit of quality.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll work alongside the owners, helping us share our story and wines with customers and partners in New Zealand and abroad. It’s about thoughtful communication, building meaningful relationships and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes - from selling our wines and managing the online shop to welcoming guests for private wine experience.
What you will do:
- Develop new sales opportunities locally and internationally
- Build relationships with distributors, trade partners and private clients
- Develop and implement proactive sales campaigns
- Manage the website, online shop and customer database
- Coordinate newsletters, digital campaigns and social media
- Welcome and host visitors, tastings and private experiences
- Support events and the smooth running of our small, hands-on team
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has proven sales and marketing experience ideally in wine or hospitality
- Has strong wine knowledge, with WSET, sommelier training or equivalent an advantage
- Communicates with warmth, confidence and attention to detail
- Is organised, self-motivated and commercially minded
- Is comfortable with Microsoft Office, Shopify, social media and digital marketing tools
- Shares our values of artisanship, authenticity and a deep respect for quality

Viticulturist / Winemaker
Vintage or growing season: no openings until 2028
Our approach to winemaking focuses on nurturing exceptional wines in the vineyard. Hans is dedicated to ensuring the highest quality fruit, and we need a strong, experienced team to support him.
Key responsibilities:
Operating tractors for tasks like cultivating, under-vine weeding, mulching, spraying, canopy trimming, and leaf plucking.
Performing manual vineyard work (see job description).
Participating in all harvest activities in the vineyard and cellar.
Handling all cellar work.
We receive many applications for cellar hands, but we specifically seek candidates with a solid understanding of vineyard practices and experience in operating machinery.

Wine & Hospitality Ambassador / Cellar Door Host
Are you passionate about wine, people and creating memorable experiences? Join our small family team and become part of sharing the world of Hans Herzog with our visitors and customers.
This is a versatile, hands-on role for someone with strong wine knowledge and a natural flair for hospitality and sales. You may come from wine, sommelier or premium hospitality - what matters most is your ability to connect with people, represent our wines with confidence and help make things happen.
You’ll host tastings and private wine experiences, welcome guests to the estate and cottage, develop wine sales and customer relationships and support the day-to-day running of our small business.
What you will do
- Host warm, personal wine experiences for our guests
- Introduce our wines with knowledge, enthusiasm and a natural flair for sales
- Welcome and care for our cottage guests throughout their stay
- Build lasting relationships with guests and encourage wine club membership
- Manage cellar door sales and the point-of-sale system
- Coordinate bookings through our website and travel partners
- Assist with day-to-day office administration
- Support sales and marketing activities, including digital communications and social media
We’re looking for someone who
- Has a genuine passion for wine and hospitality
- Enjoys connecting with people and building lasting relationships
- Is confident, warm and naturally attentive to guests
- Has a good understanding of wine, through education or experience
- Is commercially minded and comfortable with wine sales
- Is organised and confident with everyday administration and technology
- Is comfortable with tools such as Shopify, Microsoft Office and social media
- Brings a positive, professional attitude and shares our values of authenticity, artisanship and quality
