Opening Hours
Time is our most precious ingredient.
As a true family winery, our small team of wine professionals balances everything from crafting memorable wine experiences to vineyard work, cellar duties, and administration. To ensure we can give you our full attention, please book ahead when visiting, we’d genuinely love to make time for you.
Wine experiences: Monday to Friday, 9 to 4 PM (by appointment)
Wine sales: until 5pm
Closed weekends and public holidays.
Cottage check-in: 3 to 5 PM.
Winter (June-August):
Winter brings a quieter rhythm to the estate. Wine experiences are available by prior appointment.
The Cellar Door may not always be attended, however one of our team is usually on site and wine purchases can often still be arranged. If you arrive without an appointment, please follow the contact details displayed at the Cellar Door.
Should the entrance gate be closed, please email wine@herzog.co.nz and we will be happy to arrange a suitable time for your visit or wine collection.

When the borders closed in March 2020, sadly so did the restaurant and bistro. Hans and Therese, now with a small team dedicate their time on their first love - wine. You can still taste the pure passion in our wines through our exclusive wine experiences or to really immerse in wine, stay at our one and only beautiful Vineyard Cottage.
