Use of This Site
Any use of this site by any person (hereinafter “you” or the “User(s)”) is governed by these Terms & Conditions of use. Their purpose is to define the conditions of access, navigation, and use of the Site.
By accessing and using the Site, you unconditionally accept the application of these Terms & Conditions.
We reserve the right to modify and/or update these Terms & Conditions by publishing a new version on our Site. We therefore encourage you to consult them regularly.
To access the Site, you must have reached the minimum legal age for the consumption and/or purchase of alcohol (whichever is higher) according to the legislation in force in your country of residence. If no such legislation exists, you must be at least 21 years of age to access the Site.
FOR WINE PURCHASES
High-Value International Orders
For some countries (including the US and Australia), duties and taxes may be calculated on the total value of the shipment. In rare cases, the final shipping cost for high-value orders may exceed the estimate provided at checkout. If this occurs, we will contact you with an updated quote. You may then choose to proceed or request a refund. For an accurate quote in advance, please email office@herzog.co.nz. We appreciate your understanding.
Chargeback Policy
To protect against fraud, chargebacks are not accepted. By completing a purchase, you agree to our terms, including this policy. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us directly—we’re here to help.
FOR BOOKINGS
PRIVATE EXPERIENCES
With our Wine Ambassadors:
• Cancellations: 48 hours’ notice required for a full refund
• Age Requirement: Guests must be 18 or older
• Payment: Due at the time of booking
With the Herzogs:
• Cancellations: 10 working days’ notice required for a full refund
• Age Requirement: Guests must be 18 or older
• Payment: Payable upon confirmation
Please arrive on time. Late arrivals may shorten your experience or result in forfeiture.
Hans Herzog Estate reserves the right to cancel experiences for safety or other reasons. In such cases, we will reschedule, provide a credit, or issue a full refund. Please ensure we have your contact details for any last-minute communication.
COTTAGE STAYS
Booking & Payment
• Full payment is required at the time of booking
• Public Holidays: No check-ins on public holidays; stays may need to be extended. Surcharges may apply
• Facilities: No kitchen. Breakfast basket included. Winemaker’s Platter available by pre-order
• Smoking: Not permitted indoors; allowed on the verandah
• Damage: Any guest-caused damage will be charged to your account
• Children: The cottage is not suitable for children
Cancellation & Refunds
• Cancellations impact us greatly—travel insurance is strongly recommended
• Cancellations within 60 days of arrival incur full charges including fees and extras
• All cancellations incur a 2.5% credit card transaction fee
• Refunds will be issued to the original payment card
• Booking amendments may be considered for a $50 admin fee; the original cancellation policy still applies
• In case of government-imposed restrictions, cancellation fees may be held as credit for 12 months

• All prices are in NZD and include 15% GST
• We are not responsible for currency conversion or exchange rate differences
• We reserve the right to correct any pricing errors and will notify you before processing your order

Dietary Requirements
Please advise any dietary needs or allergies as early as possible—no later than 48 hours before your visit.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hans Herzog Estate and its associates accept no liability for loss, damage, or injury in connection with private experiences or accommodation, including cancellations or unavailability.
Jurisdiction
By booking or purchasing, you accept these terms. This agreement is governed by New Zealand law and subject to the jurisdiction of New Zealand courts.
