60% Viognier, 20% Marsanne, 20% Roussanne

This “Frenchie” is grown on the hottest block of pure gravel and sand at an extremely low yield. A blockbuster with ‘off-the-charts’ aromas of apricot, exotic fruit and lemon verbena that will age beautifully, but given its flamboyance we predict you will have enjoyed it long before then. Great depth and richness enchanted by aromas reminiscent of a hot summer walk through a Mediterranean herb garden. The creamy mouth filling texture is followed by a long lasting and spicy finish. Heaven!

Vintage 2011+

Another dream is coming true with the release of our very own “Mistral” which virtually blows you away! A powerful blend of the Northern Rhône Valley varieties Viognier, Marsanne and Roussanne. This “Frenchie” is growing on the hottest block of pure gravel and sand on our vineyard with less than 300g of grapes per vines (close to financial suicide!)

Hans' Winemaking Comments+

Following traditional French methods of Hermitage, I let the must go through four weeks of cool and wild fermentation in the same puncheon where it continues to age for the next 20 months on its fine lees.  To maintain its purity and flavours this wine is not fined and only very lightly filtered. Natural sediments may show.

Original Tasting Notes+

With its off-the-chart intensity this significant dry aromatic white will age beautifully, but given its flamboyance, we are predicting you will have enjoyed it long before then. Great depth and richness enchanted by flavours of apricot, lavender and scents 'like a walk through a summer herb garden'. The creamy mouth filling texture is followed by a long lasting finish.
