Nobody else in New Zealand grows the coveted Blaufränkisch, and we’ve created a lineup that honours its Austrian roots. “The Complete Family” pairs the parents, Blaufränkisch and St. Laurent, with their offspring, Zweigelt, producing a trio of wines that showcase ancestry, elegance, and the unmistakable concentration from our artisan wine growing. Each wine benefits from Hans’ meticulous vineyard work and exceptionally low yields, delivering wines of finesse, structure, and charm.

A child of St. Laurent and Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt is Austria’s most exciting red. Imagine the spicy allure of Syrah fused with the floral depth of Malbec — vivid acidity, layered complexity, and an elegant framework that carries through to a long, lingering finish. A true flavour powerhouse, built to age gracefully.
St Laurent 2020
Austria’s St. Laurent is a highly aromatic, dark-skinned variety, a Pinot-like spirit with more depth and intensity. Expect lush, ripe cherries, juicy blueberries, and a hint of spice. Rounded soft tannins and bright acidity give this wine a satiny texture and remarkable longevity, revealing layers of richness with barrel and bottle age.
Blaufränkisch 2021
The crown jewel of the collection, our Blaufränkisch remains the only one of its kind in New Zealand. Years of meticulous vineyard and cellar work result in a wine of remarkable purity and elegance. Limited in production, it is hand-crafted with the precision and finesse of a Grand Cru Burgundy, deep, refined, and captivating from first sip to a long, graceful finish.
