The beauty and allure of the Marlborough Wine country which continues long after the sun has set, and the tasting room doors have closed is the perfect setting to wine and unwind. There is something magical about sleeping in serenity, surrounded by grapevines, olive trees, and overflowing gardens with only the sounds of nature echoing in the background.

A historic workers cottage which we renovated for ourselves when we were still commuting between the estate in Switzerland and Marlborough. Later we had the idea to welcome wine lovers from all over the world and let them experience this stunning corner of Marlborough.

A word from our Guests

Absolutely exquisite! This cottage is absolutely stunning. Would highly recommend, so much character and finesse, from all the little details (high end linen, bath robes, coffee, arrange of tea, fresh flowers). Beautiful interior design. The team at Herzog were so friendly and welcoming. We made the most of using the bikes they had on offer to pop around to the local vineyards. Highly recommend the breakfast option, delicious! We hope to return in the near future!

We enjoyed a fabulous night in the Rose Cottage and a most excellent dinner in the restaurant. The Cottage is a very special experience and I highly recommend both it and the restaurant. The Herzogs are lovely hosts, the staff are welcoming and attentive, the food is divine and the wines even better.

Flanked by vines on all sides, the Hans Herzog Vineyard cottage is about as Marlborough as you can get. With a complimentary tasting included with the stay, the Wairau River running along the edge of the property and bikes on-hand for gentle exploring, you can get the full Marlborough experience without even leaving the grounds.
